Reduced Bounce Rate improves SEO performance

Does Bounce Rate Have Any Impact on SEO ? Decreased Bounce Rate Increases SEO Performance ? Have a View on some points to reduce the bounce rate of your blog.
Some people might be thinking that the goal of SEO techniques is to drive online users to your website, you have to work on other things as well. To increase revenue as well as increasing loyal readers, you have to decrease the bounce rate (the visitors who don’t navigate to other web pages and leave your site). So this is important as it forms connection with the onsite visitors. You need to take some action if the bounce rate exceeds 60%. Below are some of the smart approaches that can help you achieve the objective of reduced bounce rate:

reduce bounce rate improve SEO

1.Makes changes to the site design and content

Your content should be informative, and the listing should help visitors to quickly jump to their required destination. In short, visitor will spend more time on your site if he can easily find the things he is searching for, and could seamlessly navigate through the web pages.
If the visitor is confronted with a complex website structure, he won’t waste time on searching and move on to the other websites in the search engine results. So make sure that the website listing and content is immediately apparent to the onsite visitors.

2.Ensure that your website works seamlessly in all web browsers

Visitors access your website from different browsers. It is possible that the web pages might not have a clear display in a specific browser and the visitor would immediately divert. This is the most common factor resulting in high bounce rate.

Even if your site is user-friendly, has excellent content and he finds the desired information, but that specific page might not be aligned or displayed properly. He cannot so the visitor would not engage further.
Majority of the webmasters ignore this factor, and only test their site in the web browser that was used for its development. Nowadays, a large number of web surfers get connected to the internet through their smart phone. So the website should also be tested in the browsers used by these smart devices.

3.Load time should be reduced

This also contributes to the higher bounce rate. The visitors get irritated with slow websites. They have high-speed web connections and expect fast page loading. There are a number of tools available like “PageSpeed Insights” that precisely measure the current load time. This tool also facilitates the users through its smart recommendations that would help web pages to run faster.

So you must remove the heavy visual elements and other items to accelerate the page loading.  Google considers the site load time as a key area while ranking the search results. This would help boost the SEO performance. Websites that take 4 seconds or more are more likely to face exponential abandonment.

4.Don’t divert your visitors through chat windows, pop-ups

The visitors are easily diverted before they uncover the required information. Interstitial ads and chat windows can move your traffic to other sites.
In addition, asking visitors to sign up for E-mail updates, services, offers etc. through pop-ups isn’t a good idea. The reason is that it can be annoying for some visitors. Timing of pop-ups is another factor. They should not appear instantly when the home page loads, otherwise half of the visitors would leave your site. Let the visitor see the site, and after some time, bring in the pop-up. But, make sure that you have given ample time to visitor to have a good like at your site.

5.Content should be attractive and informative

There shouldn’t be any spelling & grammatical mistakes. The text should be unique and have valuable content.

6.Carefully work with your audio/video content

This is a good option, as the visitors are provided comprehensive information. Most of them might not want to go through the entire text. But you must consider some practices which would entice visitors to spend more time on your site.

  • Don’t use auto-play. They might feel uncomfortable and out of control. Let the visitors decide when it is appropriate to listen/watch.
  • Don’t test the visitors’ patience. Avoid irrelevant communications, and the best information should be delivered within the shortest possible time frame.
  • Work on these key areas and you would feel a remarkable reduction in your bounce rate.  Visitors would stay longer and would be more satisfied.
